cardinal_smCardinal Wrestling Rec Team

The Cardinal Rec team participates in the Twin County Junior Wrestling League (TCJWL).

The structure for the Cardinal Wrestling Rec program consists of  Saturday matches also known as a “structured scrimmage.” A typical Saturday Rec match consists of 2 to 4 teams meeting at one site and having each wrestler compete. Competitors are matched according to a set of four criteria: AGE, WEIGHT, YEARS of EXPERIENCE and SKILL LEVEL. This format ensures that, to the best of everyone’s ability, each wrestler is afforded the opportunity to compete at a level that will allow for that individual to learn this great sport.

The Cardinal Wrestling Rec program is focused on:
  • Fundamentals of wrestling.
  • Developing character and leadership skills
  • Knowledge of proper nutrition
  • Building up core strength and improving athletic skill
  • Learning techniques
  • Learning to be a complete wrestler.

Cardinal Wrestling Club Team

The Cardinal Club team participates in the Passaic County Youth Wrestling League (PCYWL).

The structure for the Cardinal Wrestling Club program will be dual meet team competition. Although wrestling is an individual sport, the “team element” of wrestling is extremely important. This is especially true in terms of deciding the team score of a dual meet: The team score is dependent on the performance of each wrestlers.
